On this save I am yet to complete more than one full season at a single club. Last season had given me hope that the team could continue to improve on the 8th placed finish, and even push up toward the European positions. As you may have guessed from he title of this piece, however, things have not gone to plan.
It’s been a while, but I’ve reached the end of my first full season at Toulouse. In previous posts I outlined the system I was going to try and employ, and the team I’d built over the summer. The board expected me to avoid relegation, but I harboured bigger ambitions than that. Here’s how things went.
In my last post I outlined the tactic I am hoping to employ with Toulouse during my time at the club. Once that had been decided upon, I had the task of building a team of players that could fulfil the roles I expect. The squad I inherited definitely wasn’t going to be capable of what I wanted, and so a lot of changes were to be made.
I’m one of the Football Manager players who needs some sort of tactical vision to get my excitement going for the game. I’ve generally struggled with this in FM16, but I think I’ve found something now. This post will lay out how I want to play with Toulouse for the next 2-3 years, and will hopefully allow me to build the club to play a particular brand of football.
